LDTC hosts AKC sanctioned competitions, provides educational programs and performs other forms of public service.

• AKC Performance Events

  LDTC is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club to hold licensed agility trials, obedience trials and tracking tests.

  Each November since 1994, LDTC has held an annual tracking test at the TD level.

  Our first Variable Surface Tracking Test (VST) was held in June 2000.

  Our first TDX test will be in September 2008.

  In September, the club holds a weekend of back to back obedience and Rally trials. The club held its first sanctioned obedience trial in July, 1996. Rally was added in 2004 and the following year we moved to a large facility at Benton County Fairgrounds.

  In May 1998, LDTC held its first weekend of back to back agility trials. We continued annual agility trials until 2003.

  
  

• Seminars
  LDTC sponsors educational seminars presented by nationally and internationally recognized experts. Check our Events page for information on upcoming seminars.
  

• Community Relations and Public Education
  LDTC participates in local activities and supports the local 4-H Dog Program. With donations from other groups, Luckiamute's Mutt Mitts program has provided doggie doodoo pickup stations in several Salem city parks.   
  

• Training
  LDTC does not at this time sponsor formal dog training classes, training opportunities abound.
• LDTC has members with experience in many facets of dog competition. Members have trained and earned titles in agility, conformation, herding, field work, lure coursing, obedience, tracking, etc. Members interested in a particular activity work together in informal training groups.
