LDTC hosts AKC sanctioned competitions, provides educational programs and performs other forms of public service.

• AKC Performance Events

  LDTC is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club to hold licensed agility trials, obedience trials and tracking tests. Starting in 2010 we will offer ONLY AKC tracking events.

  Each winter (has been in November) since 1994, LDTC has held an annual tracking test at the TD level. We added TDX in 2008.

  Our first Variable Surface Tracking Test (VST) was held in June 2000.
• Previous Events

  The club held its first sanctioned obedience trial in July, 1996. Rally was added in 2004. Our last trial was in 2009. We currently have no plans to continue holding obedience/rally trials.

  In May 1998, LDTC held its first weekend of back to back agility trials. We continued annual agility trials until 2003.

  
  

• Seminars
  LDTC sponsors educational seminars presented by nationally and internationally recognized experts. Check our Events page for information on upcoming seminars.
  

• Community Relations and Public Education
  LDTC participates in local activities and supports the local 4-H Dog Program. With donations from other groups, Luckiamute's Mutt Mitts program has provided doggie doodoo pickup stations in several Salem city parks.   
  

• Training
  LDTC has offered a variety of learning situations for tracking dogs and their handlers.
